The Endoscopy Technician diploma program gives students the abilities and information required to work as endoscopy technicians, also known as GI technicians or GI endoscopy technicians. When performing minimally invasive procedures like endoscopies, endoscopy technicians assist physicians and nurses. Using an endoscope to examine the inside of the body for medical reasons is known as endoscopy. This instrument is used to examine hollow instruments or cavities in the body. Unlike most other medical imaging devices, endoscopes are inserted directly into an organ, tract, or system of the body. Cleaning the equipment and preparing the space for endoscopic procedures are the responsibilities of an endoscopy technician.
They also help with the upkeep and preparation of the instruments and medical equipment used in these procedures.
This program will teach students how to help with a range of endoscopic procedures. Additionally, sterilization techniques will be covered in the training, including how to properly decontaminate and sterilize medical equipment and instrumentation. Pupils will acquire a strong grasp of infection prevention and microbiology. This program also covers sterile processing environments, surgical instrumentation, basic anatomy, and physiology.
